Fighting Corruption in the “Ministry of Combatting Corruption”

On April 23, 2018, UFL filed a lawsuit against the State Minister of Combatting Corruption, accusing him of misusing public funds, abusing his position of authority for personal gain, and violating his professional obligations.

This lawsuit came after the indicated minister himself publicly stated through multiple media outlets that he was unable to carry out his assigned duties. The minister’s response, rather than admitting his mistake, was to sue UFL legal team.

The South Council

On July 26, 2017, UFL filed a lawsuit against the former mayor of Hinneyeh and several South Council members for engaging in illegal embezzlement, forgery, and impersonation in order to illegally obtain the people's abusing 2006 July War compensation.

The Ministry of State for Administrative Reform (OMSAR)

UFL filed a lawsuit against the Office of the Minister of State for Administrative Reform and other parties before the Environmental Prosecutor in the north. This was due to their responsibility in setting up the waste-sorting and composting facility in Dhour El Minyeh in partnership with the Union of Municipalities of Minyeh. In addition to authority abuse and breaking the law, the crimes also included the waste of donations and public funds.

The Ministry of the Environment

UFL has submitted numerous reports and documents to the Ministry of the Environment in the solid waste file in order to prevent the unsanitary plants and landfills on the Lebanese beach from turning Lebanon into a massive dump for various forms of garbage. The alliance has also urged that all pressure be removed and that all agreements be put on hold in order to protect people's lives and health

The Ministry of Public Works

In February 2019, UFL filed two lawsuits in regards to the implementation of the project of Sham Road, Aley- Souk Al Gharb joint, against the project contractors and the contracting companies, besides employees at the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation. The lawsuits were a result of wasting funds, embezzlement, bribery, breach of trust, abusing power, and failure to perform professional duties. Following the discovery of a whole lot of corruption and looting at the expense of the specifications and the imposed conditions for implementing the commitment, which threatens the lives of any passersby on this dangerous road.

Other Ministries and Institutions

These include the NSSF, public hospitals, Electricité du Liban, Casino du Liban, and the Council for Development and Reconstruction, among other ministries and organizations whose files are handled independently by UFL.
