Garbage Crisis
After the Judge of Urgent Matters in Aley, Rola Chamoun, issued a decision last Thursday to appoint an expert to inspect the composting plant at the Costa Brava landfill, and to clarify the stage of work carried out in it against the background of the lawsuit filed by UFL to stop the implementation of the work in the plant because of the health and environmental damage it causes. After the visit of the Civil Officer in UFL to enforce the decision, where she was prevented from entering by the guards of the company that undertook the implementation of the plant, and after the UFL lawyers paid the financial advance due to the expert Ziad Hawik, appointed by Judge Chamoun, the decision was enforced this morning, as the laboratory was inspected in the presence of a UFL lawyer, to inform the Judge in preparation for taking a decision on it, provided that the full detailed report will be delivered next Thursday.
UFL reiterates what it indicated in the previous statement, that this step is an advanced step for the appropriate decision to be based on, with the hope that this file will be dealt with as an emergency situation that calls for strict and decisive Judicial decisions to preserve the health and safety of citizens.
