On January 20, 2022, the Interrogative Judge of Mount Lebanon Arlette Tabet unduly postponed Riad Salameh's interrogation session after the Court of Cassation refused his rebuttal.

These violations have led protesters to declare that no other option is left but to take the law into their own hands based on Article 184 of the Penal Code (legitimate right to self-defense).
